This spa resort is unique because it is designed as a Japanese Hot Spring resort, adobe style. It is in the mountains just outside of Santa Fe.
It is primarily a day spa, but there are accommodations ($190 to $285 for double occupancy Pets and extra persons are $15) that range in size from two person Zen style rooms which are small and simple but efficient, to the larger suites that can accommodate up to 5 people.
Ten Thousand Waves have both communal and private tubs with cold plunges. One communal tub is for both men and women and the other is for women only. Many of them are outside with beautiful views of the mountain landscape.
The Spa Services range from the typical massages and facials offered in most spas, to special Japanese style or unique services such as the Nightingale facial,($97.00 for 55 minutes) (guess what surprise is in this facial mask?) the Anma Hand Foot, and Scalp treatment, ($130 for 75 minutes) the Indo-Asian Hot oil treatment,( $122.50) and an entirely other world experience- the Wastu Aquatic Massage. ($55 for 90 minutes).
Robes, use of the lockers, showers, communal tubs and amenities, come with all spa services purchased. Water and teas are available to everyone waiting for their services.
There is also a gift shop that has all kinds of gift items including spa products, oriental gift items, and books.

Ojo Caliente was chosen as the Best Value because it offers great spa services, great food, and comfortable accommodations, and there are always great package deals going on. Check the website for the package deals being offered when you are interested in going. And of course, the natural hot springs as the Tewa Indians believed were given to us “from the Gods”.
This "place of the green bubbling hot springs" was considered a sacred place by the Tewa people who lived on the mesa. Ojo Caliente (hot eye) named by the Spanish Explorer, Cabeza de Vaca described this subterranean volcanic aquifer in his 16th century discoveries.
Guests can soak in the, seven mineral pools take a private mineral tub, enjoy therapeutic and facial massage, Watsu aquatic massage, or indulge in one of our luxury packages.
If you want to say overnight and do it all over again, you can book a room in the historic hotel, a cozy cottage or one of the special houses.
Built in 1916, the "new" mission revival style adobe hotel is an option for lodging at Ojo Caliente.
The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The lobby has overstuffed chairs, a fireplace and artifacts that tell a bit of Ojo's rich history.

The Cozy Cottages are a bit more private and come equipped with television sets and refrigerators. They are only steps away from the mineral pools, spa and The Artesian Restaurant.
The cottages have a combination of single queen-sized and double beds. Some of the north cottages have stoves and refrigerators, but no cookware or utensils. Showers or tubs are not available in any of the 19 cottages, as all bathing has been done in the bathhouses for over a hundred years.
Prices range from $79.95 for single occupancy to $109.95 for double occupancy, add $40 per additional person January 2 through February 29, November 1 through December 24.

The Mauro House, located in the center of the springs is a bit of Ojo's history. Built in the 1930's, this three-bedroom house was home to the Mauro family for several generations. It has been lovingly restored with period furniture to offer amenities that include a complete kitchen, two bathrooms, and more. Two of the bedrooms have two queen-sized beds and one has two doubles. The price for double occupancy is $195 a night plus $50 each additional person.
The Artesian Restaurant located in the historic hotel offers a seasonal gourmet menu with innovative Southwestern Cuisine, lighter spa selections and vegetarian delights. There is a large list of fine wines and beers. All three meals are served here, plus a Sunday Brunch.

“Ancient Traditions in a New Light” Sunrise Springs’ slogan says it all. This retreat combines the old Asian traditions and some of the indigenous peoples’ traditions in the spa treatment, activities, and foods served today.
The facilities themselves are also designed with this in mind.
There are 20 Casitas which are a spacious and elegant compliment to the property. There are 10 with a king size bed, and 10 with two queen beds. Most have a gas fireplace, Zen studio, kitchenette with microwave and coffee maker, and large bathroom.
The Garden Rooms consist of two buildings with 16 guestrooms in each for a total of 32 garden view rooms. Each of the rooms is uniquely appointed with handcrafted details, spacious bathroom, and a private balcony or patio. A lovely tiled lounge with fireplace is a complement to each building. 21 garden rooms have two double beds and 11 garden rooms have king beds.
The Pond View Rooms are centrally located on property and near the Blue Heron Restaurant. There are eight pond view rooms that offer a double size bed and a private 3/4 bath with shower. Each room has balcony or patio overlooking our beautiful ponds. These rooms do not have television.
